Straight Outta Compton sees itself at No. 1 at the box office for the second week in a row. The N.W.A biopic shows the group’s trials and tribulations, success, and a lot more. Straight Outta Compton, co-produced by Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, nearly doubled its $29 million budget in its opening weekend.
Not only that, the movie has shattered records, becoming the biggest August opening ever for an R-rated film and the best opening ever for a music biopic. According to studio estimates, the F. Gary Gray-directed film pulled in $26.8 million and crossed the $100 million mark for a total of $111.5 million.
