Tanya Marie Harris

Tanya Marie Harris

Tanya Marie Harris takes her place at the top of the #SoundOff leaderboard with her 5th straight win! Only 3 others, Kalsey Kulyk, Matt Farris and The Road Hammers, have managed to take 5 straight rounds since the #SoundOff began.  Watch for an official feature with Tanya coming in the near future.  Unfortunately Tanya’s success came at the expense of Ty Baynton who just couldn’t build enough momentum.  You can still support Ty in his quest to win the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist competition, which he is currently leading in votes.

With that a new round begins.  Continuing on the theme of the Boots and Hearts SiriusXM Emerging Artist Top 8 our next two challengers are Ontario’s Kaitlin Kozell and Saskatchewan’s Chris Henderson.

Kaitlin Kozell

Kaitlin Kozell

Kaitlin hails from my birthplace, Mississauga, Ontario where she grew up surrounded by new and traditional country music influences.  Along with music, the entertaining bug within Kaitlin is coming out in another facet. Kaitlin has very recently stepped into the acting world where she had continuity as an ‘extra,’ or ‘background performer’ on one of Global’s hit TV dramas, Rookie Blue. She is also currently a background performer on CTV’s Saving Hope.  For all you Leafs fans out there you may recognize Kaitlin as a regular anthem singer at the Air Canada Centre. Kaitlin was recently announced as a Top 8 finalist for the 3rd annual Boots and Hearts SiriusXM Emerging Artist showcase, the winner of which gets to open for Hunter Hayes at the Boots and Hearts Country Music Festival on August 3rd as well as a single release from Big Machine Label Group Canada.  Kaitlin currently has two singles available for download: Wrong and Do It Again.

Chris Henderson

Chris Henderson

Our second challenger is Saskatchewan native, Chris Henderson.  His career in country music started back in 2006 when he won 620 CKRM Big Country Talent Search, Boots and Hearts performer and Chris’ former “Grassroots and Cowboy Boots” bandmate Jess Moskaluke won the same event in 2010.  In June of 2010, Chris and the band were fortunate enough to be crowned “Saskatchewan’s Next Big Thing”, a contest sponsored by Big Dog 92.7 in Regina, Saskmusic and Astral Media. This opportunity has lead to $20,000 dollars worth of prize money, and a major help to bringing new music to fans in the near future!  There’s little question that an opportunity like taking the stage at the Boots and Hearts Country Music festival is a dream come true for any artist but to get the chance to not only open for Hunter Hayes but also work with Big Machine Label group on a single release is out of this world.  Chris is currently promoting his latest album My Turn which, along with his previous music, can be purchased in iTunes.

If you want to support either Kaitlin or Chris or any of the other top 8 and help their dreams come true be sure to visit www.bootsandhearts.com/showcase and enter your vote.  You can vote up to 5 times per day.

As for the #SoundOff you get to decide which one of these artists moves into the defender spot to face another one of their Top 8 counterparts.  Will it be Chris or Kaitlin?  It’s your vote so #SoundOff and be sure to support these amazing new artists!

Voting remains open until Monday May 12 at 5pm!
