Social Media Statistics Thanks to the team at SocialMediaNews.com.au we’re fortunate enough to be able to chat about some pretty handy social media statistics based on Australian data.

Before going any further let me qualify the results by highlighting the sources from which they were compiled by Social Media News.

Google DoubleClick Ad Planner tool, Google Trends, Google Insights, Comcast, Quantcast, Facebook Self-Serve advertising tool, Checkfacebook.com and official Facebook representatives.

Going by SMN’s own admission there were few changes in results, with the key players holding steady whilst growing at a marginal rate. Of interest to look at over coming months will be the effects of MySpace and Digg’s recent changes, at this stage however, no increase in visits. At least not from Aussies.
