Story: Sick starts when Parker (Adlon) and Miri (Million) decide to escape the quarantine in Parker’s family lake house. The two look to make the most of the situation, instead of getting stuck in their own homes going stir-crazy. Parker and Miri get an unexpected third guest DJ (Sprayberry) creating an uncomfortable situation for the pair.

The night is going to become a lot worse for the girls when a masked attack arrives at the home. They must fight off the attacker if they are going to make it through the night and figure out why they have been targeted.

Verdict on Sick

Sick is a horror slasher following two best friends who head to a remote lake house to escape the pandemic. However, their getaway turns into a nightmare when they get attacked by a masked killer. Now, they must fight to survive against a killer while the world is dealing with a pandemic.

This is a basic slasher movie, it gets the chaos of a slasher together well. However, its failed attempts at satirising the pandemic only hold it back into being preachy. It feels too on the nose and takes advantage of a situation many people suffered through. This ends up becoming a plain and largely forgettable slasher movie of recent years.

Final ThoughtsSick is a plain slasher that offers little to the sub-genre of horror.
