SHAUNS fashion eyewear takes to the optometrist’s office, california-based Italian-made eyewear brand SHAUNS has teamed up with filmmaker Jenna Elizabeth, to create “Spectral,” a fashion film starring supermodel Chanel Iman made exclusively for VFILES , the newest fashion entertainment platform where users can watch, shop and create in one space.

The third collaboration between Elizabeth and Chanel Iman (THIRST, GROWN MEN CRY), “Spectral” takes the viewer on a journey through the visceral subconscious as provoked by the temporary and invited vulnerability of an eye exam. Seeing, unseeing, and memory all come into play, straight from the optometrist’s chair, where Vogue Italia cover star, Viktoriya Sasonkina plays nurse to the Optometrist (played by Shane Fonner) administering the exam.

“The film explores the idea of an individual’s relationship with their sight, and the paralysis-like fear with which we are faced when confronted with the idea of losing it. It also plays on the concept of what we choose to see, and the limitations we set for ourselves since childhood that restrict our ability to move forward,” says Elizabeth, who has directed such talent as Erin Wasson, Andrej Pejic, and Julianne Moore in previous films.

One of the film’s key aims is to highlight the commitment made by SHAUNS to help eradicate vision impairment around the globe that can be easily cured with vision glasses through their “Give Sight” Program: for each pair of sunglasses sold, SHAUNS donates a pair of vision glasses and sponsors an eye exam for an individual in a developing community around the globe.

The film features eyewear from the SHAUNS Summer 2013 collection and also gives a preview of the soon-to-be-launched Holiday 2013 and Optical Collections; launching in July and August 2013 respectively.
Original music for the film was written by Roc Nation’s newest addition, BOOTS and produced by David Kahne (Paul McCartney, The Strokes, and New Order).
With VFILES being at the cutting edge of digital media, music, and fashion, it was only natural that Elizabeth teamed up with the platform for this latest film.
