Among the foreign types exhibited at the vast Pima Air & Space Museum collection is this pink Jaguar attack aircraft. The desert pink paint scheme, officially called Alkaline removable Temporary Finish (ARTF), was used on a variety of Royal Air Force aircraft during the Gulf War. The pink color was chosen to blend in with the desert landscape. Introduced in 1973, the Royal Air Force operated the Jaguar until the type was retired in 2007. The type is still in service with the Indian Air Force. SEPECAT (Société Européenne de Production de l’avion Ecole de Combat et d’Appui Tactique) was a joint venture between Breguet and the British Aircraft Corporation, one of the first major joint-Anglo-French military aircraft programs.
