Daptone Records has dropped “Hot Shot,” the debut single from Saun & Starr, an ultra-soulful duo who may be familiar to some as “The Dappettes” when they back up the great Sharon Jones both on tour and on record. The tune (featuring music by The Dap-Kings) is all-day throwback soul that will appeal to those that enjoy theirs served up like it was back in the day. They are currently in the studio finishing up their debut album, which I’m already looking forward to checking out in full.
