Safe Substitutes for Peanut Oil

By Dotchi Latham @DotchiLatham
Question from a reader:
I have a recipe that looks good but it has peanut oil in the recipe. Can I just substitute it with something else?
Safe Substitutes for Peanut Oil

Substitutes for Peanut Oil YES! I usually substitute peanut oil with olive oil. If I don't have that, or if my olive-allergic child is eating the dish too, I use canola oil. This works great if you are going to saute the food.

If it's a hot dish, like soup, and you aren't allergic to dairy, you can also try the recipe with butter instead.

I've heard that rice bran oil is a great alternative also, but I haven't tried it yet. If you have, let me know how it works as a substitute for peanut oil.
