Ryan Kwanten in Trailer of ‘Kidnapping Freddy Heineken’

A new trailer is out for Ryan Kwanten’s new film “Kidnapping Freddy Heineken.” The film depicts the inside story of the planning, execution, rousing aftermath and ultimate downfall of the kidnappers of beer tycoon Alfred “Freddy” Heineken, which resulted in the largest ransom ever paid for an individual.

Here’s what they had to say about the film over at FilmSchoolRejects:

Kidnapping Freddy Heineken‘s plot is right there in the title, but as the trailer reveals, there’s a lot more going on under the surface of this simple heist film. Now, if the real-life story of a beer baron’s grandson being kidnapped and ransomed for a large sum of money sounds like a silly concept for a movie, just think of how ridiculous a movie based on a federal agent faking a sci-fi movie in Iran to pull out hostages would be (Argo). Also consider that the powerful target of the person theft is played by Anthony Hopkins, and it looks as if director Daniel Alfredson told Hopkins to renew his role as Hannibal Lecter because he continuously prods his kidnappers with unmitigated bravado. Check out the trailer for yourself: Obviously there’s a lot to love there. Complexity, a little ultra-violence and the pedigree of the filmmaker who brought us the first two Dragon Tattoo films.

So far, the only release date we have is for the Netherlands which will be on January 8, 2015. When we learn about the US and other country releases, we’ll be sure to post about it.
