Relax Hard with Stal’s New Demo ‘a Reminder of Memories’ [stream]

French artist STAL gave everyone a late Christmas present by releasing one of his never-before-heard demos titled, “A Reminder of Memories”, the equivalent of finding that Red Ryder BB gun behind the tree. STAL is the project of musician Pierre-Marie Maulini who got his roots in A Red Season Shade and later came to fame by playing guitar and synth with M83 on tour. With a release date apt for this time of year, “A Reminder of Memories” is the perfect match to a cold winter’s day. Its ambient core pairs well with the gradual increase in volume, as STAL’s bright guitar begins to control the song. Clocking in right under four minutes, some points of the song definitely scream demo, but its raw tone adds even more to the overall sound that we’ve come to know from STAL.
