WHO:

Vivid Dreams In the midst of recording their debut album, the gritty definitively garage-sounding Vivid Dreams will release a single, titled “Wax Lips.” Flushed with feedback and driven by crashing cymbals, the home demo for this single is up on SoundCloud and is a welcoming post-modern rock sound.  The band, conceptualized and born from the brain of guitarist and songwriter Nicholas Bush (NYC), is equally entertaining on Facebook and draws influence from some late-80’s heavyweights like Pixies and Nick Cave (Do I smell hints of Nirvana, too?).

Hey Anna – Comprised of three sisters, Anna (vocals ), Erin (guitar), and Katie Rauch-Sassen (keyboard), joined by Matthew Langner and Jamie DiTringo, collaborate to form a sound influenced by their seaside upbringing. The band has been creating a buzz in the NYC scene, with Impose Magazine even calling the indie-pop band a “a treasure in the local NYC indie circuit.” The New Jersey/Brooklyn-based group is gearing up to release their debut LP, Hey Koko, on July 7.

The Fantastic Plastics – The Brooklyn-based, electro-grunge group will be releasing their debut album, Devolver, due out August 2015. The trio, which consists of Tyson, Miranda, and Dylan Plastic, combines New Wave with the garage-punk energy of musicians like The White Stripes and Nirvana. The band puts on an energetic show, focusing on visual elements like video installations, created by Dylan, and the Atari Video Music machine.

Mayve – Formed in 2012, Mayve is made up of friends Nick Micheline (vocals/guitar), Michael Gusman (guitar), and Joseph Rene (percussion). This indie-pop trio, who has made the rounds in NYC playing notable venues including Left Field and Bowery Electric, is gearing up to release their debut album this summer. Their forthcoming debut single, “Hearts on Fire,” is an upbeat summer song that sounds reminiscent of Magic Man’s “Paris.”

The Landing Self-described “space-pop” indie artist The Landing is also preparing to release a new EP. The EP, titled How Strange To Be, is due out June 23, 2015. The EP’s single, “Everything; All The Time,” is smooth, laid back, and an instant feel-good tune. As a classically trained musician, who has scored films and written original pieces for orchestra, The Landing coined the term “space pop” to describe the style of music popularized by composers of the 50s and 60s during the birth of the space age.
