Prepping for Sunday

Follow my blog with Bloglovin Wow - sorry to flood your feeds today.  I guess my brain is in overdrive today...
After the gorgeous short sleeve and capri run I had on Wednesday, a nasty winter storm blew in again and the thermometer plummeted.   I realized this morning that, even though I didn't have a run scheduled, I should probably get out there and get a sense of temperature and road conditions for Sunday's St Paddys 5k
Good thing I keep complete changes of workout clothes in my desk.  I had everything I needed to bundle up for a quick spin around the neighbourhood

Will you guys ever tire of awkward Cori photos? LOL

I hadn't done the Haysboro loop in a while so I decided to go that way.  Of course, that meant I was held up by a traffic light 3 mins into the run...but eventually I was on my way and it was smooth sailing the rest of the way.
I took it easy.  No land speed records were broken.   The sidewalks were amazingly clear and the streets around here were pretty dry.  So, unless something disastrous weather-wise happens in the next 2 days - it could be a-ok for Sunday.

Do I think I am ready for my PR attempt?  The jury is still out on that one.  My lungs are still in the process of bouncing back from the plague and when it is cold, they work that much harder.   It will depend on how well I sleep on Saturday night and how well fueled I am come Sunday morning.  I'd sure like to break that 30 min barrier if I can, but I intend to listen to my body and take care of me first.
