Piper PA-24-250 Comanche

@ San Carlos, CA

July 2020

This Comanche becomes airborne for a weekend flight out of San Carlos.  First flown in 1956, the Comanche made up the core of the Piper Aircraft lineup until 1972, when the production line was wiped out in the great Susquehanna River flood.  Instead of rebuilding the tooling, Piper chose to abandon production of the Comanche and continue with a newer design already in production at Piper’s other plant in Vero Beach, Florida, the PA-28R-200 Arrow.  Nikon D500 w/18-200mm.
