Sarah Jones – a drummer who has played with acts including New Young Pony Club, Hot Chip and Harry Styles – has shared ‘Bleu’, the latest single to be released under her Pillow Person moniker. Sarah says: ‘This song is about my love / hate relationship with the city and the search for a dark sky. It was written between Paris and London, working together on production with Bastien Doremus to get the sound of Ace Of Base crossed with The X-Files.’
Both reference points are touched upon within the opening moments of ‘Bleu’, while there’s also a more experimental and abstract pop sound rising in the background – from the glitchy backdrop to the sweet melodies and the potent delivery of all the key lines about things getting ‘too much’ and someone ‘asking me how I am’.
