My daughter tells me titling my pictures is stupid. I know I shouldn't let that bother me, since she's 18 and it's her job to whale on my self esteem. Still, it does. And, for some photos I simply have trouble coming up with anything, especially lately, the older and seemingly busier I get.

Take today's photo, for instance. This fallen leaf, stabbed by a thin off-shot of another plant, just happened to catch my eye as I scanned the area around a path at a local park/fen. I uploaded it to the computer, then stared and stared at it but nothing came to mind. Some of you are probably thinking, DUH!, I'd call it (fill in the blank).

The best I've come up with is "stabby leaf thing," which is stupid and violent, at the same time. Though it would annoy my daughter...

Hmm.

Anyhoo. Here's the same photo in B/W, with a bit higher contrast and sharpening.

Which is better, do you think? Or are they equal, just different?
