I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and 'tis the season to be merry and celebrate the holidays and for that reason it takes only a few make-up essentials to get you ready for any festive party!
I don't know about you but I love getting ready for a Christmas or New Year party as you can go all out with glitters, nails, false lashes (nothing different from a normal night out really) because if you can't do this at christmas then when can you?! Its so much fun to get all glammed up and it only takes a few essential beauty products added into your makeup routine to make you feel ready for the party!
A few key items that can help add to a festive party look are some false nails or glittery nail polish, a shimmer/glitter eyeshadow, a killer red lip, a lipgloss and not forgetting the most important part, some false lashes.
NAILS
Having your nails done instantly makes you feel more polished and glamorous in an instant! Whether you go for a salon gel, a sparkly nail polish or some stick on nails, there are so many amazing nail choices, the hard part is deciding what to go for. If in doubt, a classic red never fails and maybe add a touch of glitter over the top like the Ciate Nail paints as they are SO sparkly and gorgeous! I am loving impress stick on nails as they are perfect if you have very little time as they are already painted, are super glossy and very real looking too!

GLITTERSome sparkle on the eyes simply screams 'party look' and it's so quick and easy to do but less is more as even just a touch of glitter or shimmer shall catch the light and make your eyes dazzle. I adore MAC pigments for this and always reach to them when I want to amp up my look with a touch of sparkle! Apply a touch of glitter to the center of your eyelids for a pop of shimmer or go crazy and use a shimmery eyeshadow all over the lid. Liquid glitter eyeliners are great for adding sparkle along the lash line or used all over the eyelids for full on sparkle!

LIPGLOSSA glossy lip always completes any look and makes your lips look even more kissable (in case you happen to be lurking under any mistletoe!). Applying a sparkly lipgloss always makes me feel glamorous and my 'go-to' is normally a MAC lipglass or Bobby Brown Pink Sequin.

A RED LIP
A classic red lip never fails and is the ultimate party make-up essential. The perfect red shade is out there for everyone so anyone can carry off this look. There is something about wearing a red lip that instantly transforms your character and makes you feel uber glamorous and feminine, hence why so many famous celebrities and movie stars have it as their signature look as it simply creates a whole other persona! A matte red shall last longer as opposed to a glossy finish so if you are worried about smudging or having to keep re-applying then definitely opt for a matte finish. My favourites are Nars Red Square (a bright orange red) and Giorgio Armani 402 (a true red) liquid lip as they are totally fool proof and look incredible!

LASHESNot forgetting the one thing that is essential to any party look - lashes! No party look is complete without some false lashes as we all know how they instantly make you feel dressed. You really can go all out with lashes and choose volume, length, crystals, glitter - anything goes for a party! My current favourites are by Esquido as they are real mink and they look absolutely stunning but if you fear they may not survive the next morning then Ardell demi wispies suit many eye shapes and never fail to look amazing!
