Padstow

By Pmeurice
Times are, indeed, very busy… And letting very short time for rest, leisure… and painting! More than a month since the last post! I did some doodles, but no time for constructed work. A pity! Passion is still there though, and the need to express things in colors, more than ever.
Summer! and very nice days! I booked some holidays and plan to depart in a small month : the destination will allow pictures and paintings of seascapes, I hope!
I can't wait to start! Holidays need preparation, and I decided to pick up my watercolor palette. I plan to use this medium for my little trip, and I definitely need to practice. Digging into my last trips' pictures and went for a little view of Padstow : roofs and walls are offering nice color variations, and it's a good way to get into simple shapes, while trying to keep unicity in the whole painting.
here it is :

Padstow - Red & Greys

As usual, the picture is saturating the red a bit to much to my taste. But I enjoyed splashing on the paper… And this little town is a lovely subject… I have other views of Cornwall, surely back to it in a next post.
