Organization ASG at NYCC: All of The Stuff That Was Brought

Posted on the 19 October 2015 by Kaminomi @OrganizationASG

NYCC 2015 merchSo, New York Comic Con 2015 happened. I went there with the sole purpose of taking it easy, and taking it easy meant doing 4 interviews (Anime, Manga, Acting, and Drawing related), attending a non-anime/manga event (Marvel’s Jessica Jones/Daredevil Panel) and doing things I’ve never done before (like taking photos with talent and getting autographs).

But of course, buying things is a thing that’ll continue until the end of time, I hope. So let me show you what I got.

Free stuff

Anime Hits! Manga Sampler: I mean, this is definitely good for whoever hasn’t checked out any of these titles…but I mean, I have checked these all out. What can I say? I went and brought some manga. This is some of the free stuff that comes with it.

Attack on Titan Poster by Tony Moore: Like this, also gotten because I brought manga at Kodansha’s booth. I had to not take a poster because I didn’t really want two of them, so yeah, I felt bad, yet felt good saying no at the same time. Anyways, it’s actually an awesome cover.

Noragami Poster: This was actually free free, as they were giving it away. Needless to say, I wasn’t gonna turn that down.

Ninja Slayer Kills Poster: This was also free free. As much as I heard the anime was bad, I still want to check it out. Hopefully it’ll actually be interesting enough?

Geek of Den: Since I got it on Thursday, I still haven’t looked at it. I mean, it was free. Hopefully I’ll look at it eventually before throwing it away like a guy who wastes his $7 halal food by leaving 2/3 of the chicken and rice.

One Peace Books 2016 Catalog: The spring catalog at least. I probably got that because I’m part of the press. I still remember from a few years ago a guy gave me a free copy of his comic because I was press. It wasn’t even the medium I cover. Still feel kind of guilty and yet not so guilty.

I don’t have the comic anymore if you guys were wondering.

Yokai Watch comic: I’m probably gonna be annoyed at the changes made for the kid audience, but I have to say…this Yokai Watch thing could be big. I have no idea if it will be, but from how it was portrayed at NYCC, it was quite nice. I’ll explain in detail for the industry/panel posts, but I get the sense that it’s something, even for my advanced age, is worth trying out.

Jessica Jones comic: Got this from attending the Marvel panel. It’s a good teaser for how both Jessica Jones and Daredevil currently interact in the MCU. It’s also very short. But most US comics are. So it is what is.

That Tyrell Family picture: Will explain later, since it involves spending cold hard cash.

Monthly Girls Nozaki Kun preview: Basically has a very short preview of the upcoming manga. Not too bad I think. Got this from the Yen Press booth.

The Expanse, (Drive): I wish I delved into more books, but I don’t. I will 0ne day. Let’s start with this. Based on Ellen’s recommendation, and the fact that it’s gonna become a TV series, it’s based off a Sci-Fi series that starts with Leviathan Wakes. I will read that thanks to my library.

The Call to Adventure: Preview list of books I think from authors. Another thing Ellen tried to shove at me and had no choice to take. Or something like that.

Big Hero 6 Pin: I haven’t watched the film, but that is one cuddly yet probably destructive looking creature!

Yowamushi Pedal…wrist slap band?: Yeah, I dunno. I just know I got hit by that, my wrist is sore, and I might be pressing charges or something.

Stuff I brought

Vinland Saga Vol 4-6: It’s definitely a good series. So of course I’d be on the lookout for it at the con, so I went and got it. Looking forward to reading it.

Yamada Kun Vol 2-4: Geez what’s with me buying all these Kodansha series? But I read the manga on CR. One of these days I’m gonna do a comparisonAHAHAHAHAHA

Attack on Titan: Harsh Mistress of The City Part 2: Oh another Kodansha series (licensed by Vertical) BUT ANOTHER KODANSHA SERIES GEEZ but yeah, definitely continuing to support the LN series, and now I don’t have to worry about waiting, I have Part 1, can just finish it all in one go.

My Neighbor Seki Volume 4: What can I tell you? It’s a really funny series. You need to go buy it and laugh.

Dragon Ball Capsule Corp: It took me long enough, but I finally have merch I can use every day! Like this DB Capsule Corp cup! Now I can pretend I’ve been in the Briefs family for generations, or something like that.

Fire Emblem Awakening poster by Finni Chang: In a twist of fate, I finally stopped by the artist alley and was there for more than 10 minutes this year! I know, I impress myself. In doing so, I got this neat card from Gaia Online artist and 2D illustrator Finni Chang. Not bad.

Artbook by Tony Moy: Decided I haven’t gotten an artbook in a while, so I brought this one by Tony Moy. It’s quite good. He definitely got me with the drawing of Totoro at his booth, and from there, his art was great, especially all of it in watercolor. Very impressed.

Ghibli poster by Jinny Liang: Speaking of Totoro, yeah, I got this from Jinny. Love the style and how it was drawn.

Kiki poster by Chrissie Zullo: Lots of good Ghibli works apparently. Here’s one done by a DC artist. So yeah, that’s some good stuff there.

Game of Thrones: I’ve actually had the book for a while. Here’s the thing tho:

I also ended up getting Obara Sand, or Keisha-Castle Hughes’s autograph. I’ve never gotten autographs at a con. You can bet I’ve never done this either:

So yeah, here’s where my new expenses went over the NYCC weekend. And that explains why I got that picture of the Tyrell family. Well actually, that’s where it was supposed to be signed, but I just had something better to sign.

That concludes what I actually brought. Here’s a video accompaniment:
