Only Bidding: A Review

By Monkeys And Mountains Adventure @Laurel_Robbins

I’ve just used Only Bidding once, but I’m in love with it already!

But I’m getting ahead of myself.  Only Bidding is a new hotel reservation site.  I know what you’re thinking, just what the world needs, another hotel booking site right?

But Only Bidding is different, the main difference being flexibility.  Instead of just searching for hotels and purchasing a hotel stay as you do on other sites, Only Bidding gives you three options:

1) Search and find a hotel you want to stay at and book now (the traditional method)

2)Search and find a hotel you want to stay at and make an offer

3)Search auctions and find a hotel you want to stay at, then bid on the hotel until you’re the highest bidder.

I went with option #2 when booking a hotel in Budapest.  In order to make an offer or to bid on a hotel, you need to create an account but this is a quick and easy process.  You then make an offer on the hotel, which will either be immediately accepted or declined – so no waiting.  You’re allowed up to three offers within 24 hours.  My first offer was declined, but my second one accepted – saving me €30 off the Book Now rate, which was already as low as other hotel booking sites. I loved this feature! It’s a convenient way to save money and take advantage of times when hotels have low occupancy rooms and may be willing to accept a lower rate – even if they don’t advertise it. There are also a large selection of hotels in Only Bidding’s database.  For the dates that I searched, over 442 hotels were available and over 200 of them were either 4 or 5 stars hotels, which was what iI was searching for.

Although I didn’t use the Auction feature on this booking, it’s something I would definitely try in the future. You search by location and date, then click Auctions at the top of the page to see if any auctions are occurring.  Depending on your destination and dates, this option may not always be available, but I look forward to trying it.

In summary, I really appreciated the flexibility – 3 different booking options of Only Bidding, saving money – €30 for a 2-night hotel stay in my case and the immediate confirmation of whether or not my offer was accepted. It’s these features that make it stand out from other hotel booking sites and one that I would highly recommend! Visit Only Booking here and try for yourself.

Disclosure:  Thank you to Only Bidding for letting me try their service.  As always, all opinions expressed are my own.
