It was reported on Thursday that the Lebanese military received another 71 armored vehicles from U.S. Defense Department as part of an assistance package.
Hezbollah holds administrative offices within the Lebanese government, which controls the military and has been designated by the U.S as a terrorist organization.
Quick reminder from the NCT.gov website on why Hezbollah (another spelling- Hizballah)  is listed as a terrorist organization.
Hezbollah was "involved in numerous anti-US terrorist attacks, including the suicide truck bombings of the US Embassy in Beirut in April 1983, the US Marine barracks in Beirut in October 1983, and the US Embassy annex in Beirut in September 1984, as well as the hijacking of TWA 847 in 1985 and the Khobar Towers attack in Saudi Arabia in 1996. "
From UPI on Hezbollah's recent actions:
Lebanon's stability has been tested in recent months. A convoy from Shiite resistance movement Hezbollah was struck by a car bomb this week as it traveled to the Syrian border. Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri said Hezbollah's role in Syria's civil war was creating national security challenges at home.
The Europian Union has not listed Hezbollah as a terror organization because they claim it would "complicate diplomatic affairs with Beirut."
So. because the EU has been dragging their feet on designating Hezbollah as a terror organization, the U.S. is once again arming groups that we have listed as terror orgs.
