The use of oil in the realm of beautifying dates back to ancient times. The first perfumes and fragrances did not contain alcohol but were pure pressed essential oils and before there were souffle creams you could massage into your skin there were balms and ointments.

Oil is the purest concentrated essence that comes from certain natural origin. Oil products are more highly appreciated in cold, dry countries for their ability to lock in moisture and retain softness in both hair and body. What I’ve also discovered is the right facial oil also has the ability to calm down irritation and rebalance skin. These are five of my favorite oils of the moment that each cater in a different way. At this time of the year nothing makes getting beautiful and fragrant quite as decadent than the use of beauty oils.
1.) Pai Rosehip Bioregenerate Facial Oil, $31.00 (Cult Beauty) - I’ve featured this now more than two times already among skincare favorites. If my skin begins to break out due to an allergic cosmetic reaction or because of the change in weather I use this 3-4x a week with my moisturizer, 2-3 drops for my face calms it down overnight and rebalances it instantly. I also like how facial oils are a more natural and gentler alternative to serums.
2.) Delon Coconut Oil Hair Treatment, individual price guess Php200+ (it was part of a Delon S&R gift pack) – It’s not pure coconut oil, it’s a blend of coconut and Moroccan argan oil in a formulation made specifically to nourish hair. A few drops rubbed between your palms and smoothed over hair (ends especially) gives added shine, hydration and it smells like a tropical Christmas…just so warm and nice.
3.) Benefit Bathina Body Oil Php1800.00 (in vintage coated glass bottle) - This is my favorite “thing” among these 5 oils right now. Some people buy the Bathina shimmer cake only because it smells so good. So Benefit went out with lots of love and gave us a dry-ish after shower body oil which smoothens and envelopes you with the timeless Bathina fragrance. It doesn’t have mineral oil so don’t fear and has a key blend of meadowfoam, sweet almond oil, olive and avocado oil to nourish skin after baths. The beautiful but delicately bombshell Bathina scent has also been known to attract suitors, boyfriends, husbands etc. causing them to ask women what they’ve got on. Since no one smells me, I smell myself LOL (Yes, Cloud, you, too). It comes with a spray pump for ladylike dispersal. What makes it pricy I believe is the packaging, the bottle is a 50s inspired vintage one in coated glass that looks like something Marilyn Monroe might have set on her table once upon a time.
4.) Aromatherapy Associates Support Breathe Essence Oil £17.00 (CultBeauty doesn’t ship to RP, SG only) - Let me make clear THIS IS NOT FOR THE SKIN only for breathing. It contains key essential oils of Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and Tea tree to help ease breathing and clear stress and congestion. It’s an antibacterial aromatherapy breathing essence. The aromatherapy part of it clears the mind. A few drops on a tissue or handkerchief held close to the nose and therapy can begin. Banish stress with a sniff.
5.) Moringa O2 Malunggay Hair & Skin Therapy Oil Php99.75 This is the ultimate multi-tasker that is such good value for money. It smells like Elizabeth Arden Green tea and you can use it on both skin and hair. I’ve tried it on my face and it doesn’t irritate, in fact the after feel is not greasy at all. I rubbed a few drops between my hands and patted this onto my cheeks, now they feel moisturized without any oily feeling proving that skin absorbs it well
