No Justification For Killing VAWA

No Justification For Killing VAWAYou don't need look any further than the killing of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) by the Republicans in the House of Representatives to know just how dysfunctional the 112th Congress really was. That bill was passed in 1994 and reauthorized in 2000 and 2006 by huge bipartisan majorities. After all, who could oppose fighting violence against women? We now have an answer to that question -- the current crop of House Republicans! It turns out that they think only certain groups of women deserve to be protected against violence, while other groups don't deserve that protection (like immigrant women, Native American women, and members of the LGBT community). It makes me wonder how any decent person could vote Republican.
