New York Radio Station Interviews Music Supervisor About Music For We’ll Meet AgainThe radio station WCBSFM 101.1 from New York recently chatted with True Blood music supervisor Gary Callamar about the choice of music for this past Sunday’s episode, specifically the choice of using “Escape” by Jimmy Buffett (also known as the Pina Colada song). The episode’s writer Alexander Woo also suggested “Margaritaville” by Buffett but “Escape” won out:

“At the end of the day, we chose ‘Escape.’ The songs were picked because of the humor, but we also had to find something that might conceivably be in Sookie’s grandmother’s record collection.”

The episode’s title track “We’ll Meet Again” is a WWII era song that was recently cut for specifically for True Blood by the band Los Lobos. And for those who might be wondering about the song played in the fairy club known as “Hot Wings,” it was called Sleep Isabella by a band called Abney Park.

The title track for this week’s episode, “Let’s Boot and Rally” was written by Calamar and was recorded by Iggy Pop and Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino.
