New Range of Exetel No Contract Plans

Posted on the 06 February 2012 by Prepaidplans @prepaidplans

Exetel entered the no contract mobile plan market a few years ago and it seems to be a category that they are trying to develop. I remember their CEO stating when they were first launched that he wasn’t quite convinced that they could really make money within this category. The changes to their plans over the past 2 years is probably testament to how hard it can be to make money with mobile plans when you don’t have a client base the size of Vodafone’s or Optus’.

The new range of plans continue to be on the Optus network and look very similar to what is currently offered by Live Connected, although Live Connected is a few dollar per month cheaper. The pricing is very competitive and the value very good. The difference is that Exetel have phone support (out of Sri Lanka), unlike Live Connected.

Lets take a look at the plans:

M8 $8 per month – $165 credit + $148.50 credit to Exetel plus 200MB data
M15 $15 per month – $500 credit + $500 credit to Exetel plus 1.5GB data
M29 $29 per month – $850 credit + $2000 credit to Exetel plus 3GB data
M39 $39 per month – 2000 minutes to anyone and 2000 minutes to Exetel, unlimited SMS plus 5GB data

Call rates are 99c/min + 40c flagfall. Txts are 25c and excess data is 27.5c/MB
All plans receive unlimited Twitter and Facebook access.

This is what Live Connected has to offer:

Tribe 8 $8 per month – $135 credit + $145 to Live connected plus 200MB
Tribe 11 $11 per month – $500 credit + $500 credit to Exetel plus 1.5GB data
Tribe 25 $25 per month – $800 credit + $2000 credit to Exetel plus 3GB data

Live Connected also offers unlimited access to Twitter and Facebook.
