Little Mr A is a bit of a shoe lover (wonder where he gets that from!) so when we were offered the opportunity to try out some Hi-Tec Waterproof boots I knew he would be very excited to receive them.

The boots are waterproof snow boots that are very child friendly.  They have an abrasion resistant heel and toe for added protection which is great especially for Little Mr A as he tends to scuff his toes, especially when riding his scooter.

The outsole is made from MDT rubber to help provide traction on all terrains.  Inside the boots the sockliner adds extra cushioning and comfort whilst also claiming to increase the lifespan of the boots.

The boots start at a Junior size 10 and go up to a child’s size 6.  I would say the sizing of the boots is good.  I got a Junior size 11 for Little Mr A and they fit him perfectly.  They are a good width and there is plenty of room for movement.

Our first impressions of the boots are really good.  Although we haven’t really had the weather to test out the waterproof side of the boots, Little Mr A couldn’t wait to give them a try and walked around town in them the day after they arrived!

They were very easy to put on and, because of the toggle fastening, he can put them on by himself.  This is really useful if he is going to wear them to school in bad weather as he hasn’t grasped laces yet!

He walked around the whole of town in the boots and said they were very comfy.  I was worried they might be a bit heavy for him, however, he seemed to walk well in them and didn’t moan once that his feet were tired.

Hi Tec Children's Waterproof Boots

The boots feel very good quality and I can see them lasting for a while (well until he grows out of them anyway!).

The color is really quite neutral, gray with orange fastenings, so they go with most of Little Mr A’s clothes.

With an RRP of £36.99 I think this a good price for these kind of boots of this quality.  You would pay more than that in some stores for a normal pair of shoes or boots.

We are going to Scotland over Christmas so I am hoping for some snow so that we can test them out properly and we will be coming back to let you know whether they are in fact fully waterproof and stand up to the bad weather.

Disclaimer – We were sent these boots in return for our honest opinion.  All photographs were taken by me and are not to be used without my permission.
