My Island Kiss Lip Moisturisers Review and Swatches

By Jhilmil D Saha @jhilmildsaha
Hola angels! So many of you have been asking me if I stopped writing for Beauty and Beyond, and the answer is a big fat NO! I cannot and would not, ever, leave such a happy “beauty-laden” family; and I apologize for being MIA since about a month, but I had my exams and if you know me, I am one nerdy-head! So yes, that was the reason behind my being almost invisible!

And guys, one month is a long time—and though I have not been blogging, I have been collecting a whole lot of stuff which I will be sharing with you people starting today. And if there is one thing I am the most excited about, it is the set of lip moisturisers from a relatively new Indian brand—ISLAND KISS.
The packaging of these lip moisturisers is so cute or rather very sassy and reminds me so much of balm cosmetics and trust me, it is so fun to just look at! So the USP of the brand is that it is pure, organic, petroleum free, non-toxic, cruelty free, not tested on animals and is lip smacking! The lip moisturisers promise to soothe, nourish, soften and replenish your lips!

Ingredients
Tropical mango & Avocado Butter, Organic Beeswax, Stevia, organic Carrot Seed Oil, Pure Castor Oil, Rich Vitamin E Oil, Organic Macadamia Nut Oil, Citrus Oil, Raspberry Seed Essential Oil, Natural Organic Colour.
Texture
So now that you know that the lip moisturisers have ton loads of natural oils, I’ll tell you flat out that these lip moisturisers are very slippery, or rather very liquidy and oily to apply. It is nothing like your regular lip balm, it is very runny and because of the liquidy nature, the berry blush shade tends to bleed and move away a lot! So more than a lip balm, these can pass for a nice every day glossy-gloss! But they are very moisturising—like deep nourishing lip moisturisers, just how they are meant to be! So no false claims there!
Shades
The lip moisturisers come in three shades, or should I say three variants. Two of them being nude-y, rather pale and transparent lip products while the third one is a nice warm toned red-tinted lip moisturiser. So here are the detailed reviews for each of the shades

Alma Vanilla & Inges Lavender
INR 399
This gorgeous little lavender toned lip moisturiser tube is a delight to look at. The color it imparts is really sheer (like all of the other variants) but has a slight milky, pale sort of baby pink tint to it while swatching. But on the lips it is just a nude gloss.
Cherry Blossom Flores
INR 399
The baby blue tube of goodness is so soothing to the eyes, you guys! (oh, that rhymes :P) This lip moisturiser has no color whatsoever and is just your very basic daily wear moisturising gloss.
Puerto Berry Blush
INR 499
The most expensive of the lot, at 499 this one is a must try. If you are someone who likes to go all-naturally-chic but still want a hint of color to amp up your pucker, this little baby is the way to go! It is a gorgeous reddish-pink, almost like a warm red tint which shows up wonderfully on the Indian skin and made me go ooh-la-la! Just look at how happy I am just wearing it. :D

So all of these taste yum—yes, it is safe to lick as it is non toxic and made of 100% natural ingredients. And most of the good taste comes from the mango seed oil and nut oil and what not. At 399-499 it might be a bit expensive for a lip balm, but these heavy duty moisturisers are definitely the way to go if you want something which really does the job well!
