I'm slightly late to the game, but I finally caved and signed up for Birchbox about a month ago, and my first box arrived over the weekend! I've been waiting impatiently, especially after seeing some pictures floating around on Twitter of this month's box. I'm pleased to say I wasn't totally disappointed!
This month's box was summer travel-themed, so all the things were geared towards prepping yourself for a vacation. Even though I don't have any vacations planned, I'm more than happy using what I got for everyday purposes.
Upon opening the box, the first thing i saw was this leopard thing. I was really confused until I got it out and saw that it was a cute bag for carrying liquids through airport security! I'm always losing my liquids bag, so I was really excited to have received this one. Also, it's pink. leopard. I can't wait to fly so I can use it!
Then I unwrapped the rest of the box and got my first look at the goods!
Included were self-tanning towlettes (tried that, failed, now my leg looks a little...odd in places... but they DID tan).
Makeup brush and sponge cleaner was in the box. I haven't tried it yet, but I am excited to. I am so bad about cleaning my brushes.
This de-frizzing hair product, by Number 4, smells really weird, but so far I think it actually does what it says. It'll be put to the real test during the rest of this week, when it is over 100 and humid (...yay dc...). It also has sun protecting qualities!
I had seen from Twitter, that people were receiving theBalm's Staniac in their boxes and I was hoping I'd get it too. I'm always on the lookout for new lip products (as we've discussed before) and one that doubles as a cheek stain, too? Perfect! I love the color, it's just red enough to be seen, but not so bad that it screams RED.
Finally, Birchbox is currently promoting Birchbox Man, which is in it's beta period. They included a little eau de cologne packet. I'll be passing this on to my brother to see what he thinks!
Overall, I'm pleased with the box. I wish there were more makeup products instead of tanning things (then I wouldn't have a streaky leg..), but it is summer, and we all know that you shouldn't be tanning in the sun because it's bad for your skin! I'm excited to see what next month's box brings!
