As Above, So Below (2014)Starring: Perdita Weeks, Ben Feldman, and Edwin HodgeSummary: A group of people go down into the Parisian Catacombs looking for treasure and soon realize there's more to it than just tunnels.

My Thoughts: As Above, So Below starts off creative and different and interesting and soon enough becomes a bore. I was counting the minutes until it would be over for a while. Then in the last twenty minutes of the movie, you get interested. The most terrible part about it though is that there's really nothing keeping me interested. In most horror movies, there's at least either acting or a great back story to keep me interested. There was really shitty explanation on what was going on and there was barely any acting at all. I wasn't connected to the characters at all nor did I give a damn about what would happen to them.

The movie did go into great detail about what the treasure was and what they were after, but I was just so uninterested and bored I paid no attention. The way they played it out was just bad. Very bad. But while watching it, the underlying meaning and symbols perked me up again. I mean, can someone say DANTE'S INFERNO?!

When the end of the movie finally came and the credits rolled, I didn't know what to think about the film. Should I be depressed that I spent money to see this film or should I wonder about what I just watched? I did the latter and after contemplating those last twenty minutes, I thought about how those were the only minutes of the movie I enjoyed. I was left a bit unsatisfied as well, but maybe because they're making room for As Above, So Below 2?

I'd be really depressed if they did make a sequel, but who knows?
