We’re always a sucker for a good peppy/sad song — the kind that make you dance but also sort of want to cry. It’s essentially the best mixture of emotions in the world. The first track off Milo Greene’s second album Control, “Lie to Me”, is exactly that kind of song. The track combines a beat that demands you groove along, a peppy guitar line and, of course, the instantly captivating male/female trade off vocals with lyrics that would give the reigning queen of sad-sing-a-long pop a run for her money. The result is completely irresistible. The music is saccharine while still being interesting, and that’s a nearly impossible balance to hit.
