Mercedes Benz Fashion Week!

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week! Mercedes Benz Fashion Week!Mercedes Benz Fashion Week - four words so many of us love to hear...well, this year I got to GO!
Back in late spring I attended the Beth Israel/St. Luke's-Roosevelt Breast Cancer Luncheon at Manhattan's Pierre Hotel.  I was a guest of one of the board members of the foundation for which I am Executive Director, Breast Cancer Alliance as we fund a breast surgical fellowship there each year.
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week! There were a few items upon which I bid, and was subsequently outbid, in the silent auction, but what I did win was a door prize - 2 front row tickets to a runway show at fashion week!  Yeah baby!
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week!Well, Fashion Week is going on now and the show to which I had tickets, Son Jung Won, was Saturday.  I hit the tents at Lincoln Center and we had a blast!  Exhibits were fun, the Mercedes on display was a stunner, and the fashions were stunning (and so many felt possible to wear!)
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week! After a couple of hours of gaping at new styles and looking for celebs (Kelly Rutherford was just across the runway from us as was the host of Lives of Style) we headed to lunch and decided on Bar Bouloud.  I had been there years ago and liked it, both the food and the sleek decor, and truthfully, the wait for a table was much shorter than at The Smith. (I had been to Fiorello the night before and while the food is delish and the waiter was among my favorites ever, I wanted something different.)
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week!My friend enjoyed her salad (not a vegan one) as I did my prettily-plated tomato soup with fresh basil. The cocktails with bourbon and brandy were potent, the fruit with a raspberry granita refreshing, but what we loved the most?  The fries!!!  Skinny, crispy, salty...I know - it doesn't strike you as a Fashion Week meal but I'm telling you, they were so worth the calories!  Besides, it's not like we were the ones modeling...maybe next year ;-)
