Mayer Hawthorne brought all sorts of stage presence and style to Terminal 5 on Friday night. From three different wardrobe changes to short stories told while sipping bourbon, this was quite the theatrical performance — it seemed very well planned out and written. Hawthorne and his band brought us a bunch of funky, motown-ish tunes to keep us dancing all night long. Hawthorne radiated self-confidence on the stage, seeming very sure of every move he made, including his final wardrobe change that left the crowd looking at his unbuttoned shirt for a good two or three songs. It was definitely and interesting Friday night, and definitely a very good time.
