I think only an incredibly lazy blogger hasn't written about Maybelinne Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H yet. And yes, I'm one of them! Catching up today and giving you my thoughts on this product.
I love worthy drugstore finds and this Maybelline eyeliner is one of them. When it appeared in Rive-Gauche here I bought it at once, no idea why it took me so long to write a proper review! So, as always, good things go first. I love the brush that goes together with the eyeliner. This little thing is very handy, makes application easy, I like the quality of the bristles, very soft. I've been using it for a good couple of months now and it remains the same, maintaining it's shape and quality. Good job, Maybelline!
Gel eyeliner itself has really great texture, very creamy and smooth, easy to work with. I wouldn't say that black is really intense, it's more like black mixed with charcoal or iron-grey. If you want something really intense and jet-black, I'd say MAC Liquidlast Eyeliner is what you should be looking for. Anyways, back to Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. It's quite long lasting but I wouldn't say it's completely smudge-proof, if I go for a dramatic eyeliner look and make a line thicker, it transfers to my eye socket, that's why I stick to a really thin fine line. Removing it wasn't a big problem. I just used a bit of Bourjois Express Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover and it came right off. Here are some pictures of how it looks on the eye.
In general, it's a great product for the price and it's widely awailable, drugstore here has no better gel eyeliner comming with a brush, but I wanted something completely foolproof so I'll go on looking.
