Margaret Glaspy has shared the Alex Chaloff-directed video for ‘Killing What Keeps Us Alive’ and announced UK tour dates ahead of the release of new album ‘Devotion’ on 27 March (ATO Records). Her first record since 2016’s ‘Emotions and Math’, ‘Devotion’ is described as ‘a collection on 12 love songs, reflecting the phases of romance – appreciation and frustration, doubt and adoration’ and it finds Margaret experimenting with all kinds of sonic soundscapes.

‘Killing What Keeps Us Alive’ opens with vocoder-infused vocals and soft electronica beats that remind us of the newer Villagers material or Beach House before veering into the nostalgic pining-for-romance sound that serves Maggie Rogers so well: ‘We’re young with nothing to our names. I feel no pain, time’s wasting away’. Margaret’s words show just how much she values the emotion of love and clinging on to that special sometone:’I’ve been wandering through the dark and I want to start a spark with you and start a fire in your heart and watch the stars fade from black to blue’: ‘We feel no shame, time’s wasting away’.

Catch Margaret Glaspy on the following tour dates:

27th March – Mono, Glasgow
28th March – Institute, Manchester
29th March – Fleece, Bristol
31st March – Lafayette, London
