BBC reports that these moths, which said to have a wing span of up to 16cm (6in), have even invaded a national football match after they took over the Darul Makmur Stadium last week. As weird as it may sound, this is not news to people in Malaysia, as they gets visited by moths almost every year. However, it’s rare to have these giant moths visited in massive swarms.

“The moths are actually present during other times of the year but in very small numbers, so they are usually not noticed by people,” said Biology lecturer N Sivasothi.

These same giant moths made an appearance all over Singapore last moth, making over 800 sightings. Seems like these guys are making a tour around Asia. I wonder where they would visit next.
