Makhane Ki Kheer

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Puffed lotus seeds (makhanas)
  • ½ liter Milk 1/2
  • 2-3 tablespoon ghee
  • ¼ teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup toasted and roughly chopped mix dry fruits (Almonds, cashew nuts, raisins )
  • 2-3 tablespoon desiccated coconut powder
  • ½ cup condense milk
  • Powdered Sugar to taste

Method:

  1. Pour the milk condense milk into a deep non-stick pan and let it come to a boil.

  2. In another wide a heavy bottom pans heat ghee and  add the makhane to the pan and sauté lightly.
  3. Take it off the heat. Add coconut powder and powdered sugar to the milk and let it boil on low heat.
  4. Add the makhane and mix lightly.
  5. Add green cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits, cook till the makhanas are completely soft.
  6. Mix well and take it off the heat. Let it cool to room temperature and then keep in the refrigerator to chill.
