“It’s the little memories that will last a lifetime.”

How do you celebrate Children’s Day for your kids every year? My child’s school generally organizes some event or activity for the kids, probably a fancy dress competition. The kids have fun in school and come back to a normal rest-of-the-day at home. Isn’t that pretty much it?

How about making Children’s Day different this year? How about extending the fun and celebration at home too and becoming a child again with them? Kids squeal with laughter when we do something silly, crazy, fun with them…when we become kids again! So here’s one super fun activity you can do with your kids to make this Children’s day more special this year.

We’re talking about organizing a treasure hunt in your house itself! It takes just minutes to prepare, doesn’t need too many things and it guarantees a thrilling evening for you and your kids. And to make it more fun, you can invite their friends from the neighborhood to double the fun!

What you will need:

  • Post-it notes or scraps of colored paper
  • A sketch-pen
  • A collection of chocolates like Cadbury Dairy Milk as the ‘Treasure’ or as a reward after every clue cracked.

Preparation Time: 10 to 15 minutes

How to Play:

You can make it as long as you want with as many clues as you like. You can add to their fun by giving them props or costumes so they can pretend to be pirates, detectives or superheroes in search of a treasure or on a quest to solve a mystery!

If it’s a big group of kids, they can be divided into teams and the team that gets to the treasure first wins it. For younger kids or fewer kids, it can be one noisy group going on the hunt together and the final treasure can be divided among the group.
