I am addicted to buying lipstick, well that and a whole bunch of other stuff but this month it's definitely been lipstick. You may have noticed quite a few blog posts and pictures on my Instagram of late involving lipsticks because to say that I love them is an understatement. Lipstick is the best and easiest accessory that anyone can wear. Change your lipstick and it changes your look in an instant. Everyone should own at least one nude shade, a bright and a classic red to cater for every look and occasion.
Beauty brands have been on fire lately with so many amazing launches of new colours and finishes of lipstick that I for one have not been able to resist. Following on from my last blog post, I mentioned I would be following up with more recent lipstick purchases from MAC's other latest collection, The Matte Lip. I purchased 3 shades from the collection - all very me and all very gorgeous. The Matte Lip Collection consists of 22 suede-like finish matte lipsticks featuring 12 brand new shades (matte) alongside some other permanent current shades (retro matte). They give a pop of color to the lips with some impressive staying power.

I personally think a matte finish is much more glamorous than a glossy finish as it just oozes Hollywood Glamour. The shades that I chose (having restrained myself from buying more) were All Fired Up, Tropic Tonic and Runway Hit which are all very different from each other and very much the tones that I love to wear.

This collection differs from other MAC collections as all the lipsticks featured are in the permanent line or are being added to the line, so it's kind of a re-promote with some newbies thrown in.As I have mentioned before in my last blog post, MAC's matte finishes of lipstick are incredibly creamy on the lips unlike some other brands that I have tried in the past where they can make your lips look dry and flaky without them actually being dry at all. With any matte lipstick it's about lip prep too, so make sure your lips are nice and moisturised prior to any lipstick application. These lipsticks are super pigmented, long wearing and the only difficult part is deciding on what shade or shades (plural) to buy! The color range is a little whacky with lots of brown tones, just like I used to wear in my teens during the 90's, with even some blue and purple tones featured amongst some gorgeous very wearable shades - so something for everyone.

The Matte Collection has already launched in the U.S. as I purchased these last month when I was in Las Vegas and it launches in the UK now during this month of August, so do go and check them out as it's a great selection of matte shades that I highly recommend as I do with MAC lipsticks in general.Let me know what you think!
