Luke Redfield: Tusen Takk

Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter Luke Redfield is blessed with an intimate singing voice that is tailor-made for his melancholic country-tinged folk songs. His new album Tusen Takk has the sound and feel of an on-the-porch concert during the sunset. Redfield is a wanderer, traversing the globe as a busker, bringing home new songs and stories.

Redfield is a musician's musician in the Americana niche and he had no trouble enlisting a long list of collaborators: Martin Dosh, Jeremy Ylvisaker, JoAnna James, Brandon Eggleston, Peter Pisano, Gary Calhoun James, Geoff Dolce, Dan Cantrell, John Kolar, Bill Baird, Haley Bonar, Willis McClung, JT Bates, Mike Lewis, Daniel Zamzow, Joey Kantor, and Brett Bullion. With the Townes van Zandt tribute Cowboy Song, the gentle song love song My Sweet Lass and the dark drinking song ballad Ides of May, Redfield shows his versatility as a songwriter. All he needs is a bit of luck to reach an audience outside the cognoscenti. Recommended if you like Danny Schmidt, Iron & Wine and John Gorka.
