This HDR image is from my first visit to see the annual Planes of Fame airshow.  The theme of this year’s show was “Lightning Strikes”, which saw the historic event of having five P-38′s flying together.  Only seven examples are airworthy in the world.  Glacier Girl is famous as being the P-38 recovered from Greenland in 1992, where it had crash landed in 1942 and ended up being buried by over 260 feet of ice.  “Tangerine”, in the background, is from the Tillamook Air Museum in Oregon.
