As if Dr. Dog wasn’t busy enough playing epic eight-night runs in New York or traipsing around Playa Del Carmen with Jim James and his cronies, drummer Eric Slick manages to find time to nurture his own side project, the Philly-based garage rock enterprise, Lithuania. Their debut single, “Pieces”, is reminiscent of the turn-of-the-millenium boy bands that so many of us were weaned on, with dirty electric guitars reinforcing the poetic apathy dripping from Slick’s lyrics. The lyric video for “Pieces” perpetuates the myth of grunge culture, featuring grainy home-video footage of skaters overlaid with text strips bathed in ink splotches and typing errors. The debut LP from Slick and his partner, Dominic Angelella (DRGN King) is due out in June, label TBA.
