Lily Flame – Scented Candle – Does Exactly What It Says on the Tin!

By Kelly Cakar @secondblonde

I’ve been curious of this candle brand Lily Flame and it’s impressive range of 59 different scents with their catchy names like; Dolly Rocker or Whispered Wish and the theme coloured tins. Lily Flame candles are handmade in the heart of Somerset. They burn evenly without leaving black marks and fill the room with hours of scent. The design is simple the label is matt with shiny embossed text giving it a luxurious feel.

I quite like the idea of replacing the lid after each use as I think it helps lock in the smell, probably doesn’t but like to think it does! They burn for up to 35 hours so having it lit for about 2 hours per night means it will last for almost 18 days.

I went for “Blue Hyacinth” (from a secret garden) hoping the scent will take me back to my childhood memories of my Dad’s love of blue hyacinths and the strong aroma of the flower in full bloom in the garden room in our house every spring, this candle did not disappoint.

The coloured cubes are a nice touch, they melt when lit creating an even violet hue.The scent is very realistic and to my surprise not plasticky smelling or “toilet cleaner-ish” like other brands around the same price point £8.50.

Indeed this candle does export me back while filling the room with it’s aroma without being over powering. I normally light it at night after dinner, I know it’s not the correct season and I should fill the room with a more wintery smell but who cares?! Perhaps I will treat myself to “Chocolate Truffle” or “Jack Frost” next. There’s so many to choose from here which one will you choose?
