Kristin Bauer and Colbert on True Blood and Politics

Posted on the 28 July 2014 by Thevault @The_Vault

True Blood’s Kristin Bauer van Straten shared her opinion of Sarah Palin during the show’s Comic-Con International panel on Saturday (July 26).Kristin said that the ex-governor “will weigh in on anything“, before telling the audience that Palin turned down an offer from HBO to make a cameo on True Blood.

In the episode “Lost Cause” which aired prior to Comic Con on July 20, the show featured a bloody fictional fundraiser for real-life US Senator Ted Cruz, and also made several references to Republicans – including her character (Pam) referring to herself as “a Republic**t.

Not only does Kristin get the best onliners on the show, but she was able to do some payback by attending a Republican gala in episode 5. Kristin told those at Comic-Con:It’s sweet many, many years later [after first hearing of Palin] that I’ve made her angry, I had fun doing it.”

We’ve previously posted about the Republican’s reaction on this topic on two previous posts, Ted Cruz’s reaction as well as Sarah Newlin’s. And, the conservative press have been reporting about the episode where Pam and Eric go to the Dallas Gala since the episode aired.

Now, even Stephen Colbert has something to say about the True Blood episode on his show, “The Colbert Report.”
