Coasts and Knox Hamilton played to a vibrant 7th Street Entry at First Avenue on Friday. Los Angeles band Symmetry got the night started with their upbeat pop rock, followed by an energetic performance from Knox Hamilton, their single “Work It Out” definitely acting as the crowd favorite. Near the beginning of their set, lead vocalist (and band co-founder) Boots Copeland thanked the packed room, enthusiastically noting “We have some close friends from our hometown in Arkansas in the crowd!” Elated “woo’s” sounded from a dark corner of the room, with the rest of the crowd chiming in as the music started. The cozy 250-cap room lent itself well to the dance party that followed.

English rock band Coasts kept the dance party going, ending the night with a 14-song set (just two songs shy of their 2016 album). Lead vocals Chris Caines crooned into the mic and danced around the stage until the final notes of “Oceans”, their last song and hit single. They left the stage with fans begging for an encore that didn’t come, the only disappointment of the evening.
