This news is for my book loving friends thinking of spending some money to buy a good e-book reader. The all new Kindle Paperwhite is now available in India. Kindle Paperwhite is the 6th Generation of Kindle and brings with it many new features, along with a new display technology and higher contrast to make reading easier, even in sunlight.
The new Kindle Paperwhite weighs just 206 grams, making it more comfortable to hold for longer period of time. And it’s new display technology makes the reading easier in sunlight, and more comfortable for eyes in dark. It also boasts of having eight week’s of battery life, reducing the chance of a user being forced to stop reading because the device has run out of battery.
The all new Kindle Paperwhite also comes loaded with several interesting features like Page Flip, Vocabulary Builder etc.
The arrival of Kindle Paperwhite in India was announced in New Delhi on January 15, 2014. Speaking at the event, Mr. Amit Agarwal, Vice President and Country Manager, Amazon India, said,“Kindle is the best-selling e-reader in the world for six years running, and now it’s even better. The new Kindle Paperwhite features brand-new display technology, the next generation of our built-in light, a faster processor, plus new features like Kindle Page Flip and Vocabulary Builder. We are excited to make Kindle Paperwhite available to our customers in India.”

Here are the important features of Kindle Paperwhite:
Display: New display technology ensures brighter contrast and better reflectivity making the reading easier and more comfortable.
Next generation built-in light: The light is guided towards the display surface to make reading more comfortable.
Processor: The new Kindle Paperwhite boasts of having a 25% faster processor than its predecessor making the pages to open up faster
Page Flip: Preview any other page, any other chapter or even the end of the book without losing the page that you are currently reading.
Vocabulary Builder: A feature that can help the readers strengthen their vocabulary while reading. This feature includes word lists, flashcards as tools to help enhance the vocabulary.
Smart Lookup: Kindle Paperwhite also has a feature with a full dictionary and Wikipedia integrated into it for a quick reference.
Free Time: This feature allows the users to create personalized user profiles on the device for kids. It also encourages children to read by rewarding young readers with achievement badges.
Cloud Collections: Using the Amazon’s Whispersync technology, users can synchronize their book collections across other Kindle devices and reading apps. This also ensures that the books are securely backed up on the cloud and can be re-downloaded easily if needed.
Connectivity: Kindle Paperwhite comes with built-in Wi-Fi and free 3G for easy download and syncing of books. And as per the information I got, this means ‘no hunting or paying for Wi-Fi hotspots, no monthly charges, no data plan required.’
Selection of books: Now, I guess, everyone who knows about Kindle also knows that there’s no shortage of books available for reading on a Kindle device. Even the India Kindle Store offers over 2 million books, including over 450,000 titles that are available exclusively on Kindle only.
