Janis Joplin and Jorma Kaukonen had a tape rolling when they worked their way through a bunch of folk and blues songs at Jorma's house in Santa Clara on June 25, 1964 vinyl (3500 copies) on Black Friday. This lo-fi tape, captured on Sony TC-100 tape recorder, has made the rounds for quite some time, but now gets an official release. The typewriter that can be heard in the background was used by Jorma's then wife Margaret, who was writing a letter to her parents.
