What a 24 hours it's been for comic book fans the world over, with the announcement of the casting of Wonder Woman in the new Superman movie and the release today of the new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which shows not only what looks like a great movie, but also alludes to the possible appearance of The Sinister Six in the future, Bryan Singer tweeted today with this little doosy.
If I'm not mistaken, 2016 will see a new X-Men movie and Apocalypse will finally make his way to the big screen and with Days of Future Past not even released yet this is a big announcement by 20th Century Fox.
For anyone not in the know, Apocalypse is an immortal mutant who has been around for thousands of years, with basically any power you can think off and as the name would link to, 4 horse men by his side. Basically one of the X-Men's greatest foes so the studio is aiming big. The obvious choice for a storyline with this villain would be the famous Age of Apocalypse storyline, so if you think Days of Future Past will be a messed up story your in for a big surprise. Which begs the question. How is Days of Future Past going to end to accommodate this sequel, not in a happy way I'm guessing. Only time shall tell.
I for one am loving the whole one upmanship employed by all the different studios in trying to make their film franchise's and now ever expanding cinematic universe's the most lucrative. It's a great time to be a comic book fan.
