In Hoc Signo . . .

By Vickilane

In Hoc Signo . . . A few morning ago, the pre-sunrise sky looked like a cover for a sci-fi novel -- other worldly and vaguely apocalyptic.

In Hoc Signo . . . Angry red clouds seemed to promise a coming doom.

In Hoc Signo . . .
To the north, though, gentle pastels set a different mood.
In Hoc Signo . . .
Then I saw the crossed con trails  and thought at once (as one does) of the legend of the pagan Emperor Constantine whose vision of a cross in the sky, accompanied by the words In hoc signo vinces (By this sign shall you conquer), led him to convert to Chritianity -- taking with him, eventually, the Roman Empire.

And then I thought of a time warp whereby two airliners fall through a wormhole back to 312 A.D. . . .

Hmmm. . .

In Hoc Signo . . .
