Forgive me if it goes astray.
Sky was all purple, there were people running everywhere ...
Tryin' to run from the destruction
You know I didn't even care.

Well after prancing about in a tutu, gold suspenders and a feather cape on Friday, a boxset of Pre-Code movies The Phoenix bought me for Christmas got a right ragging today. Night Nurse was one of my favourites. I adored Barbara Stanwyck (here as a brunette) battling a gang of crooks trying to murder two little sisters for their trust fund, while keeping the girls' mother hopped up on drugs and alcohol. Of course, Barb and Joan Blundell gave audience glorious peeks at their scrumptious knickers at every possible opportunity.
Well of course that wasn't going to happen was it?
Hiding from matron after a big night out, Joan Blundell is a wee bit worried about getting sprung "coz I wear my makeup all the way 'round the back of my neck!"
I was in the mood for showing off a few bits of pure vintage scanty-goodness before the evening light withdrew.
These girdles from the 1940s and 50s are too yummy to hide so I wear them as skirts over leggings. I buy them a couple of sizes bigger than if I was to them as control underwear so they slip on and off easily. Can't wait for autumn to take hold as I miss wearing these gorgeous babies.
