Out of all of Whitney’s videos, this is the one I remember most. In fact, I still think of her in that dark silver dress and the bow in her hair. Loved it! I think it would be a cute outfit to replicate too.
How Will I Know was released as a single in November of 1985 from her debut album, Whitney Houston. It was written by George Merrill and Shannon Rubicam and originally intended for Janet Jackson, who passed on it. The lyrics describe a girl who wants to know how a certain guy feels about her.
The track was super successful, charting at #1 in the US and Canada. It also made the top 10 in Australia, United Kingdom, Norway, and Sweden. After Whitney’s passing in February, the song re-entered the charts and went to #49.
It’s definitely one of my favorite Whitney tracks. Rest in Peace, Whitney!
