One of the most flattering trend, that compliments every body type is the 'dress over jeans' trend. A trend that can be worn all year round and in all seasons. Aside from the fact that you will already have all the pieces in your closet, no shopping needed, this would also give you that extra warmth under all that layering.
Today, I am busting a few ways you can embrace this trend, without busting your brains...
1) When wearing a voluminous dress, keep the jeans skinny and vice-versa. So when your dress is more cinched, you could take a pair of wide leg jeans for a spin. This just balances the overall volume.
2) Elongate the look with some stilettos or high-heeled booties. The dress over jeans can look like too much fabric, so wear heels to define the two silhouettes.
3) Looking to wear your maxi dress over jeans??? How about knotting up your dress from one side. This will allow the jeans to peek from underneath.
4) Belt your dress to add some waist definition or extra pizzazz to your outfit.
5) In cooler temps, wear a chunky sweater or a structured blazer for that extra layer of warmth. ( take cues from my outfit )
6) A dress with a long slit makes the sassiest piece to wear over jeans. Ruffled or frayed hem jeans would be beyond flattering.
7) Don't shy away from colors. Go for a dramatic dress with lots of colors and complete the look with a bright pair of heels.
8) When wearing a button front shirt, go for that edge appeal by tucking half of that dress in your jeans. Add a belt for that splash of color.
9) Think out of the box, and wear your sweater dresses over skinny jeans instead of the traditional tights. Add a skinny belt for that extra structured look.
